Gone Fishing
It's been a crazy summer, y'all. (No, I am not Southern. I am a shameless thief.)
I was frantically writing SHIFT SHOW, the second book in my Mad Queens Inc. trilogy, while also doing a Kickstarter and dealing with some family stuff.
10/10 do NOT recommend.
But it's all over. The first draft of SHIFT SHOW has been sent to my editor, the Kickstarter is over, and the family stuff? Well, it's down to a simmer from a boil. I'll take the win.
In a few days, I'm getting on a plane for Spain to eat tapas and drink sangria. And yes, see stuff as I wander around. I do need ideas for book 3, after all.
The first part of the trip is me and my husband, then I send him home and go to an informal author conference — or as I call it: Author Summer Camp. Because I get to see some of my favourite people for a week at a beachside resort. We shall laugh and exchange wisdom and laugh some more. If you're on my newsletter, there will probably be photos.
Oh, and my kid just went back to school. She's 24. lol But we did go back to school shopping together, which was stupidly fun.
GOLEM FOR BROKE (Mad Queens Inc., #1) has its exclusive early release on September 28 on Deborah Wilde Books. It's currently up for pre-order in ebook, paperback, and audiobook format.

Surviving your forties requires coffee, good friends, and a morally flexible relationship with illegal magic.
Tovah Silver runs Mad Queens Inc., an unlicensed magical problem-solving agency with her three best friends. They've built their reputation on grit, loopholes, and unrepentant competence, ignoring those who think their perimenopausal magic tops out at party tricks.
They’re wrong but correcting them would be a felony. Every one of the Queens has a forbidden second magic buried deep—until an assassin golem forces Tovah to unleash hers.
She thinks she got away with it. Then Nikolai Azarov shows up.
Vancouver’s only golem maker would call her story creative if he wasn’t too busy calling BS. Worse, once he figures out what she actually did to that golem, he doesn’t turn her in. He names his price.
Now Tovah must honor a dangerous bargain with a man who’s already insufferable without leverage, outmaneuver the magic cops circling her agency, and hunt down whoever left a hand-delivered clay effigy on her bed.
Middle age isn't a crisis. It's a weapon.
If you love Shannon Mayer’s Forty Proof and Robyn Peterman’s Good to the Last Death, you’ll devour Mad Queens Inc. Perfect for fans of paranormal women’s fiction, slow-burn romance with banter, and found family who’d help you hide a body.
